SCOPE OF WORK & PLEASE READ THE SPECIFICATIONS CAREFULLY:

This is an interior remodel of the existing Records Department, Lobby, Restroom, Stairs, Elevator, second floor lobby area, walls and windows including improvements to the electrical and audio visual systems, DESIGN BUILD modifications to the existing HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Sprinkler and Fire Alarm systems of the Garden Grove Police Department. The plumbing scope includes installing a new kitchen sink, R/R the restroom toilets & sinks and the water, sewer and vent lines. Other items of work not mentioned above are required and shown and called out on the plans and specifications. Please Note: The Schedule is only 60 working days!

NEW PUBLIC WORKS REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS: All contractors and subcontractors shall not be qualified to bid on or be listed in a bid proposal, subject to the requirements of Section 4104 of the Public Contract Code, or engage in the performance of any contract for public work, as defined in this chapter, unless currently registered and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Sections 1771.1(a) and 1725.5 More information may be found at:

This project is a public project with prevailing wages and ALL contractors are required to comply with Labor Code 1777.5 and 1777.6. This project is being funded with federal community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds therefore the higher of the two, federal prevailing wages or California State Prevailing wages, applies. The higher of the two applicable wage classifications, either Federal prevailing wage or State prevailing wage will be enforced for all work under this contract. These labor codes also involve possible donations to an apprenticeship program. You may not be required to donate if your company is union. PLEASE BE SURE TO INCLUDE THESE IN YOUR BID!!! There is a per day penalty for underpayment of prevailing wages and/or overtime payments.

Thomco requires that all subcontractors issue certificates of insurance (general liability & worker’s compensation) naming Thomco Construction Inc. as additionally insured. For the worker’s compensation: a waiver of subrogation for the duration of the project is required. Please include the costs for obtaining these in your bid. If Subcontractor is performing Structural Steel Erection/Fabrication, the insurance amount must be $2,000,000 Aggregate/$1,000,000 Per Occurrence for bodily injury, personal injury, and property damage, plus an Excess Umbrella Liability policy in the amount of $5,000,000. NO INCREASE IN CONTRACT AMOUNT(S) WILL BE ISSUED AFTER BID FOR THESE CONDITIONS.
