SCOPE OF WORK & PLEASE READ THE SPECIFICATIONS CAREFULLY:

The Scope of work consists of the renovation of the interior, exterior, façade and site of the existing Statler building, including hardscape, landscape, the irrigation system, and decorative fencing to create Statler Youth Center and miscellaneous related improvements as required but the plans and specifications.

The Schedule is 120 calendar days total!

MINIMUM AND PREVAILING WAGES: Notice is hereby given that the Contractor must comply with the State of California latest established wage decision.

This project is a public project with prevailing wages and ALL contractors are required to comply with Labor Code 1777.5 and 1777.6. These labor codes also involve possible donations to an apprenticeship program. You may not be required to donate if your company is union. PLEASE BE SURE TO INCLUDE THESE IN YOUR BID!!! There is a per day penalty for underpayment of prevailing wages and/or overtime payments.

Thomco requires that all subcontractors issue certificates of insurance (general liability & worker’s compensation) naming Thomco Construction Inc. as additionally insured. For the worker’s compensation: a waiver of subrogation for the duration of the project is required. Please include the costs for obtaining these in your bid. If Subcontractor is performing Structural Steel Erection/Fabrication, the insurance amount must be $2,000,000 Aggregate/$1,000,000 Per Occurrence for bodily injury, personal injury, and property damage, plus an Excess Umbrella Liability policy in the amount of $5,000,000. NO INCREASE IN CONTRACT AMOUNT(S) WILL BE ISSUED AFTER BID FOR THESE CONDITIONS.

THE SCOPE OF WORK IS: The Project is to develop a new Gas Co field base site in Bakersfield. This will be a mixed use site: field base, marketing office, public relations & energy efficiency center. Plans are being reviewed and completed but the general project information:

The subject property is a 10.335 acre parcel at McMurtrey Avenue. All of the proposed buildings are single story structures. The main building is to be approx. 29k sq. f.t., and is to be registered for LEED and WELL Certification. There is to be an outdoor community space, garage of approx. 3k sq. ft., a fueling area (fueling not in scope, however coordination with specialty contractor will be required, and grading of this area will be required), a storeroom building approx. 8k sq. ft. a covered storage area of approx. 10k sq. ft., enclosed by chain link fencing. There will be site work, including microwave tower & grading/gravel “area for future expansion”, a NGV fueling station, open to public (fueling not in scope, however coordination with specialty contractor will be required, and grading of this area will be required).

The owner would like to look at the options of cost & schedule for concrete tilt-up buildings vs. CMU buildings, so we will be seeking pricing and schedules for each type of construction.

SPECIAL NOTES: This project is a PRIVATE project with private wages to be paid. The RFP states that the Gas Company’s Payment Terms are to withhold 10% Retention and a NET 45. Please be advised and take note.

3313 FDC Roof Drainage Project

SCOPE OF WORK & PLEASE READ THE SPECIFICATIONS CAREFULLY:

The Contractor shall furnish all materials, labor, tools, transportation, equipment, supervision and any other services necessary to correct the drainage problem at the R & T Building. Work to include new roof drains which involves penetration through the ceilings and repair of existing single ply roofing at areas of alteration. The roof repairs needed, including associated flashing membranes shall be directly manufactured by Sika Sarnafil and shall be rated as an Underwriters Laboratory adhered, reinforced, PVC membrane roof system. Sika Sarnafil has specific guidelines for these types of repairs and their manufacturers specifications should be strictly followed for all repairs necessary. Upon completion, the roofing system alterations will require an inspection by the manufacture's Technical Sales Representative along with the Chief of Plant Operations III or his designee to verify that the system has been installed according to specifications and details. There shall be no deviation made from the contract specifications or Plan A1 or G1 without prior written approval by the Chief of Plant Operations III or his designee. Contractor is responsible to flow test roofing and piping systems to ensure they are free of any leakage.

Approved Roofing Membrane Systems:

Reinforced PVC membrane with minimum 60 mils polymer thickness (± 2 mils I 30 mils above reinforcement layer), "Energy Star" CRRC compliant white membrane in accordance with Title 24, Section! 18 requirements to be installed as specified herein. All open soil, transit, and vent pipes will be flashed utilizing a standard Vent Stack detail with PVC membrane cap if applicable. The use of clamps and caulking for membrane termination will not be accepted at open (non-connected) pipes. As required, reinstall all existing anti-theft caps after performing Vent-Stack flashing detail also if applicable. 2. Perform all flashing and detail work in strict accordance with the roofing manufacturer's standard written and detail requirements for roof alterations if required.
